Returning to the Bedsahead blog after a small hiatus, we bring it back with our greatest achievement as a small business so far. Winning the most outstanding home and furniture store was truly a proud moment for all of us here at Bedsahead. After the chaos of what was 2020 and 2021, this win means even more to us!
Winning this award allowed us to reflect on how far we’ve come over the years! From what started as a home-run business, to now having a large warehouse space where all our bedheads and soft furnishings are created. Our team at Bedsahead has grown as well, inviting a seamstress and graphic designer, an upholsterer, an apprentice and an interior designer to join our growing team!
Speaking to the BedsAhead Director, Michelle Bostan, who founded the company in 2012 with her husband from simple beginnings, was thrilled to receive the accolade after years of hard work.
“Ten years ago we were searching high and low for our own bedhead in a colour, fabric, style and size we wanted that was of high quality but also affordable”, says Mrs Bostan. “From store to store and searching online, we became frustrated in our search, so we decided we would create our own! That’s when the business idea started”.
Michelle says it is important for their customers to have their own freedom in choosing their individual designs, fabric, size and height which can be made to complement specific bedroom themes.
“We quickly realised the significant cost savings and freedom in choice and set up our premises where all items are locally and lovingly custom made with all materials sourced from local Australian suppliers. We deliver our pieces nationally and the average turnaround time is six weeks from the day of order”.
Over the years we have worked on The Block, being featured in 2018 and 2019 throughout the bedroom spaces. More recently, being involved in an Instagram Giveaway with Carly Mcdonagh, as well as having the pleasure to create a bedhead for Jess from ‘@lifeofriverandilluka’. These opportunities have allowed us to branch out and refine our creations for customers all around Australia.
We have loved every second of Bedsahead, and most importantly we have enjoyed working with every single one of our customers to produce their custom pieces. We are very grateful for all of our customers who have shaped our business and gotten us to where we are today.
